Did you know...
* Ballymanus (aka The Billies) GAA Club is one of the smallest clubs in the country and is situated in Askinagap, a small village over 3 miles north-west of Aughrim, Co. Wicklow... * The rumour spread around Wicklow prior to the announcement of the Celebrity Bainisteoirs, that top Irish model Glenda Gilson would be taking the reins in Ballymanus... * The lads waited enthusiastically in the dressing-room for Glenda to be unveiled but were surprised (shocked!) when Baz Ashmawy (who's that lad?) of 'How Low Can You Go?' walked in... * Baz was assisted by mentor Kevin O'Brien (former Wicklow GAA star, All-Star and Compromise Rule International) in the preparation of the team... * Ballymanus were drawn against Maryland, Co. Westmeath in the quarter-finals but forced to play without local stars Paddy Byrne and Seanie O'Neill who had to play a Leinster U-21 Championship match the following weekend... * Maryland managed by Marty Whelan were narrow victors and went on to win the tournament...
